![]() Without one of these phones, you cannot (officially) use this camera. This might be one of the biggest drawbacks of this device. According to Samsung’s official website, the Samsung Gear is pretty outdoor friendly as it is robust to dust as well as splashes and thus perfectly suited to accompany you to all the action events you want to capture.įor the Samsung Gear 360, you will need a MicroSD Card to make it work, and a Samsung smartphone like the S6 or S7. The camera features WiFi, Bluetooth, and a 30MP resolution. Now you can easily get your hands on one at Amazon for about $350, making it affordable for casual users while providing a significantly better image and video resolution than other devices, e.g. The Samsung Gear360 with accessories (Image courtesy of Samsung)Įarlier this year we already wrote an article about the Samsung Gear 360, but until now it was only rarely available for purchase in the United States. The Theta SC seems to be a good all-round talent, but there are some other good alternatives to look for. The Theta SC is available in pink, blue, beige and white at a price of $299. Thus, you will very likely basically get the same quality of images from both devices ( this is also the reason why we provide images of the Ricoh Theta S in the comparison).īy downloading the companion app for this camera on your mobile phone, you can easily control the camera and edit the settings through WiFi. The lenses with a 14MP sensor of the two models, as well as the 8GB internal memory (you do not need an SD memory card, but can’t extend it as well), are the same. It´s smaller, with no HDMI port, and a five minute limit on Full HD video capturing (the Ricoh Theta S is limited to 25 minutes). It might be seen as the little brother of Ricoh´s Theta S because it is essentially a (feature wise!) stripped-down version of the Theta S. The Ricoh Theta SC is the latest camera of Ricoh. This is why we also recommend it for using it with the HoloBuilder JobWalk app, to digitize your construction project in the most efficient and convenient way. The Ricoh Theta S was one of the best cost-benefit ratio 360° cameras when it was released. This is cannot only be fun in your leisure time but also highly useful in professional contexts like job site documentation in construction projects or virtual walkthroughs of real estate properties. The process of linking these two pictures is called stitching. When you take a picture, the device will shoot a picture for each lens and assembles them together. Each of them has a fisheye lens to get an 180-degree field of view. If there only two lenses, they face in opposite directions. All the (true) 360° cameras have at least two lenses facing in different directions. Magic? It´s not that difficult as you might think. To help you at choosing one, the following sections will present you with all you need to know to get a comprehensive idea about their specifications and features. But what has not become easier is choosing which device you would like to go for. With the latest generation of new devices, it has become easier than ever before to capture great 360° content. But how do you capture 360° pictures to be able to make use of this do-it-yourself content creation? You can use your Smartphone or you go serious with a 360° camera. YouTube and Facebook offer 360° videos and platforms like HoloBuilder enable the creation of advanced 360° virtual tours. But the band really recorded the song with the Wrecking Crew, the legendary group of LA session musicians who played on practically every third #1 hit in that era. Of course, McGuinn is really the one who matters, and his sparkling, chiming 12-string intro is the part of the song that everyone remembers. Dickson wasn’t convinced that they really knew how to play yet, so only McGuinn got to play on the single. Dylan recorded a version of the song for his 1964 album Another Side Of Bob Dylan, but he didn’t like how it turned out, so he kept it off the album. It’s a typically obtuse Dylan composition, and it’s never been entirely clear what the song means. A visit to New Orleans during Mardi Gras might’ve been what incited the song. Terrain features can apply adjusters and modifiers in addition to the base terrain. The path cost of amphibious landings is fixed at 24 pixels (~170km ). The path also determines whether direction-dependent terrain features apply. For example the path between two coastal mountain provinces at a fjord might consist of 40% mountain and 60% ocean, resulting in +40% movement cost for this path instead of +100% in a pure mountain range. At this point, the only way to win is to roll exactly what is displayed on the Ancient One’s card over and over again until all of the doom tokens are gone. Whenever an investigator is devoured by the Ancient One, he or she is out of the game. If the Ancient One’s doom track ever fills up, the players either lose right away or he awakens and the investigators must fight him. They can spawn monsters, move the clock a bit faster, or even add doom tokens to the Ancient One’s card. These cards will often have immediate effects and ongoing effects. If you ever run out of health and/or sanity, you must discard that investigator and his/her items and pick a new one.Īfter a player has taken his or her turn, the clock moves forward and a new Mythos card is draw. If you fail (which will happen A LOT), you can lose health, sanity, or both. Whenever you successfully complete objectives, you will receive the rewards listed on the cards. These mini markers will be placed in rooms, making them that much more difficult to beat. Monsters have a variety of ways of spawning throughout the game. You can also get the help of special characters called “allies” to get through each room a bit quicker. These dice can be acquired by using common and unique items, which you can get by beating other adventures. Some of the rooms are next to impossible to beat with just the basic green dice, so you will have to use one of the special red and yellow dice to help you. One key rule is that you can only complete one task on the card at a time, so you are definitely relying on good rolls. Sometimes you have to do the tasks in order, while other times you will be able to do them in any order you choose. To do so, you have to roll dice to match the symbols on the card. In music these sounds are called notes, and they are organized into scales, harmonies, and rhythms. Creating music is the process of organizing the incredible variety of sounds in nature into a logical arrangement of sound in which the sounds have an organized relationship to each other. It is this organization that creates a solid foundation for the painting.Ĭreating an interesting painting is not copying the confusion of colors in nature, but organizing them into patterns. This arranges the colors in the painting into a pattern of shapes, with a clear level of organization. Within one shape there may be several different warm and cool color differences, but each of these warm and cool colors has an identical value. Each shape is differentiated from the others by having a different value or saturation. These are the major shapes in the painting. Let us take a look at how this painting is divided into shapes. Here is a painting I did in Xinchang in China. Xinchang Old Bridge, by Barry John Raybould – 40cm x 50cm – Oil on Canvas – 2018 I generally use a combination of these two methods. If you do not respect that pattern, your mountains will look as if they belong in a different place, and you will lose the poetry of that specific landscape. ![]() However it is more difficult because when you redesign the shapes you have to make sure that you do not lose the essential characteristics of the specific things you are painting.įor example, if you are painting mountains in a particular area, there is a specific pattern in the way the valleys and peaks of those mountains in those area are formed. Redesigning the shapes gives you more flexibility in your design. ![]() However you are still limited by the scene in front of you. crop the scene in order to make the shapes more interesting, orĬropping the scene is the simplest method, and allows you to get creative with your design by varying both the aspect ratio of the crop (the proportions of the height to width of the rectangle you use to crop the scene), or to zoom in or out of the scene. You can do one or the other, or do a combination of both methods. Generally this will also mean you will have to simplify the shapes. This means that if you want your work to have Visual Music, you need to edit the shapes we see in nature and redesign them from an artistic point of view. When you don’t know what the subject is, the end result, viewed as a graphic image with no meaning, is often not very interesting at all. The easiest way to see this is to turn a photograph upside down. However if you were to look at those shapes without knowing what the subject was, the inherent shape design of nature is often uninteresting. Together these shapes represent real things. The visual appearance of nature is complicated and consists of a myriad of shapes. There are several principles you can follow to create good shape design in your paintings. In this structure, all the shapes fit together to cover the surface of the painting. You can think of a painting as simply a two dimensional surface built from a series of shapes and combined into a mosaic-like structure. The essence of creating Visual Music in a painting is to design interesting shapes that intrigue and captivate the viewer. Shape in art is a flat two-dimensional area of color that has an identifiable edge or outline. We won’t dive too deep into what keys are here - this is something for a lesson on music theory.īut the basic gist of it is, for each fret that you raise your capo, the pitch of each string on your guitar goes up by half a step. In music theory, a key is essentially a collection of notes, or a ‘scale’, that forms a piece of music. This shortens the strings, causing your guitar to change keys. Some chords are harder to get to than others, and just take more practice to master. When you’re first starting out you’re still developing calluses and getting comfortable with picking out chords.
